The natural oak colour of this whisky, with its aroma and flavours, reflets maturation in refill Spanish oak sherry casks. The nose exudes aromas of fresh forest fruits, wood resin and orange zest, with a hint of peat smoke. Sweet ginger spice, dried fruit and peat define the plate, with a fruity, soft and lingering finish. First bottled in 1971 as a 15 year old, this 1956 Macallan was carefully re-bottled by hand in 2009to grace the Fine & Rare collection.
